Based on this picture:

Empty?

Sean often wondered why he kept it. It wasn’t as if they used it any more. It was just, well, those treasured memories . . .

When they first met in New Zealand, many days were taken up with physical training and the need to keep in shape, so it had more than its fair share of use . . . one way or the other.

Now, though, preferring the comfort of bed or couch, the bench looked lonely, empty, like a barren and dry landscape, thirsting for refreshment. Tonight, then, he’d ask Viggo to join him in satisfying its emptiness with pleasure.

~End~

Hee! Feeling sorry for the old workout bench - the perfect excuse for a, um, well, a workout. *snortle*

This is by no means the most obvious take on the prompt and I think probably all the better for it, capturing clearly those sometimes sentimental and odd decisions we make about the things to keep about us as our lives roll on...one wonders where it's kept - probably the garage.

what an original angle for this photo! it's hard to let go of the things that hold good memories for us. :)

It starts out a little bit like everything is in the past, but that last bit was a very lovely surprise :)
Thank you!
