Sean/Viggo fic archive?

I finally have enough fics to archive, so I'm starting to shop around for a web host. Then a thought occurred -- there's no dedicated site for Sean/Viggo RPS, is there? I know there's Green Opals for Sean fics, and many of you have sites for your various fanfics... but I don't think there's an archive specifically for Sean/Viggo RPS. (If there is, please tell me where I can find it!)

So, I'm thinking perhaps I should create one. This would give those of you who don't have your own fanfic sites/webspace a chance to host your fics somewhere safe and reliable and free (or incredibly cheap -- haven't worked out the logistics yet).

Questions:

(1) Is this something you would be interested in seeing and/or contributing to?
(2) If yes, what interests you more -- a central archive (sorted by rating, author, etc), or separate "author" subdomain sites? (Sort of like slashcity.org has, so your subdomain site would be yourname.slashcity.org or whatever.) Or both?

I do some web design/coding professionally, plus I'm very comfortable with web hosting & maintenance issues since I deal with that all the time in my own business, so I think I'd be able to run a pretty decent site. I think a central archive would be better. After all, you're talking about a solely Viggo/Sean archive, and lots of us do other things than Viggo/Sean. Maintaining two seperate personal archives could be a bitch.


and I'm very interested in this. if you need any help (I'm completely amatuer, but it's the thought that counts, right? :p), I'm pretty much usually available.

Yeah, guess I didn't explain that very well, eh? There'd definitely be the central archive, that I'd maintain myself, but then any writers who want their own separate site (for whatever fics, not necessarily VigBean) could have their own subdomain as well.

I'd love to see a centralized archive for VigBean fic. :-) If you do a database for it, it probably shouldn't be hard to sort by author, pairings, etc.?

I'm currently doing a lot work on PHP/MySQL databases, so if you want any help in designing the backend of the website, I'd be glad to help! :-)

It'll depend on how many fics there are to archive, but yeah, probably a MySQL DB is the way to go.

It's been a few years since I've worked with databases, though, so I just might take you up on your kind offer. :-) Thanks! I'll definitely let you know.

In theory freelove has been working on a Rugbytackle archive for months. But I think she got bored and stopped working on it quite awhile ago. Still, you might want to check with her and make sure before you go to all the work! I do think it is an absolutely great idea, and always have...

Thanks for remembering me :) However, I didn't get bored, I just got way too busy to work on the archive and I think it would be a lot better/easier if someone who had more time took over the job of archiving. I'd be willing to help in any way possible.

(Oh, and I'm still working on the smut I owe you, you know! I just don't post it...I'll post it here soon.)
