This is just a brief post...
Mar. 22nd, 2003 07:54 pm...to pimp
twinkledru's brilliant idea, an Aragorn/Boromir/Arwen community:
dyinginhisname. Because really, what could be better than having your Tolkien canon and eating it too?
And to plead again for someone who knows how to design LJ web pages to tell me how to put a background on this one!
And since
cinzia's been begging for some new fic and it's been sort of quiet around here, I'll issue another challenge. Take a poem of Viggo's (if you don't own any of his books, go read the poetry posted at The Many Faces of Viggo Mortensen -- take a gander at "Apart" and "Communion"). Pretend it's about Sean. Make up your own explanation for how it got written. Post here. *g*
Incidentally, I realize that
tyaa and
lady_iseult have been suggesting in their notes that I am, like, a major pushy VigBean whore who cracks my whip over writers until they put out. This is, um, unfortunately true. So
jennandanica and
vivianedesblanc and
freelove and the rest of you with known WIPs...FIC ME! *assumes dominatrix stance, glares expectantly*

Backgrounds
Date: 2003-03-22 06:05 pm (UTC)I only have a free account, so I can only give instructions on how to do it with overrides. No clue how to work with styles. Anyway, I have a sample background up at my own LJ if you want to see how it works:
Basically, you create a background and put it on an image host. The one I use right now is called http://www.villagephotos.com. Then, in the "Modify Journal" section, enter this code under the big Style Overrides box (should be at the bottom of the page):
GLOBAL_HEAD<=
<style type="text/css">
<!--
body {
background-image: url(http://www.your-website.com/image.jpg) !important;
background-attachment: fixed !important;
table, tr, td, .shadowed {
background: transparent;
}
}
-->
</style>
<=GLOBAL_HEAD
The line background-attachment: fixed - is optional if you want the background to tile. Other than that, upload a background image and have fun! :-)
If you have any more questions, post them here or e-mail me. You can test out the background with my bg image if you want. The image URL:
http://image1ex.villagephotos.com/pubimage.asp?id_=1921645
It's a sucky background, though, so it's best you make a new one. :-)

Date: 2003-03-23 05:54 am (UTC)I actually have been too busy for my own good. But I promise I'll get your smut finished soon. I also need to get the archive up and running....yes, I know, I am so lame + a hugeass procrastinator.
And I haven't been leaving feedback at all for anyone...*dies of guilt*
