Finding Peace

I don’t like camping.

Viggo knows this, yet as much as I kick, resist, resent, he ignores it and brings me here. No matter how long he has to work at it, I do – eventually – find there are no riches as great as peace shared with the one you love.

And there is peace here. Creation at its best – sunset over water; fire for warmth; precious friendship.

Though the sun sinks in the west, our reward will be dawn. Viggo is the sun who lights my world.

I still don’t like camping, but have much to be grateful for tonight.

There is great honesty in the voice of your characters, both the one heard and the one implied. Lots of atmosphere - the plain language almost mirrors the calm in the image. thanks for sharing.

That's a lovely piece and a very nice use of the prompt!

I like the fact that Sean doesn't really like camping, yet once dragged there by Viggo, finds peace, appreciates the sunset and looks forward to dawn.
