Crossing Bridges
I find it difficult to be a man in this changing world, you know. Sometimes I don’t know which way to go – tough guy or softie? I find it difficult to act on instinct anymore, because it’s not really instinct, I’m told, just the way our fathers taught us to do things.
Bridges, I’d always thought, are crossed to get away from something, or to approach something; Sean showed me both. We’re told never to cross a bridge until we come to it, but he, somehow, has crossed a bridge in his imagination and he’s far ahead of the crowd.

Date: 2012-03-13 07:26 pm (UTC)It's probably the frankest interview I've ever read with Sean - usually he doesn't give much away (or only stuff we've read dozens of times before), but he seems really proud of this role.
