Discoveries in New Zealand

Feeling like a small ship on a vast ocean, Sean watched the sun dipping over the horizon towards the country he would soon arrive in, wondering what he would find there; wondering if he’d made the right decision. Thinking only about the new role, he could never have prepared his heart for what he did, eventually, find.

Now, watching that same sun disappear over a different horizon, he realised that what he’d found, on the far side of the world, was the bright atmosphere of Viggo’s presence and the coldness of his heart had found the genuine glow of love.

Balancing the two sunsets, the empty past and secure present, your Sean seems at last to have come to a place where he knows that the sun doesn't ever really set, that it's always light somewhere, and if he looks for it, he'll be able to find sunshine all the time.

Mmmmm lovely, and the 'bright atmosphere of Viggo's presence' really is there in the picture, a warm rich reminder that whereever in the world one is, there is always the sun that shines. For them both.

I loved it--Sean finding his bright atmosphere in Viggo on the other side of the world. It is just amazing how the sun set in horizon is so different from the sun setting in another horizon. You have written this so beautifully.
