Cruelty and Captivation
Jul. 30th, 2003 07:12 amThose of you who are interested in this sort of thing have probably already seen it, but now that Captivation has gotten started, I can finally post about this in RugbyTackle without feeling like it's off-topic...
dragonkal and I (aka Vig and Sean in the Establishment) started a Christian Bale/Sean Bean series called "Cruelty" about a month and a half ago. It takes place in the not-so-nice universe of Chiaroscuro, which is sort of a shadow version of the Establishment (although, unlike the Est, it is neither an RPG nor open to new players). As one of the authors described it, it's a BDSM universe where things tend towards the unsafe, insane, and occasionally nonconsensual.
Both arcs, plus the bridge piece that connects them, are findable here. I highly recommend reading Cruelty first -- even though it's epic-length, at 27 chapters long. Even if you don't like Christian Bale.
The sequel arc -- "Captivation", which is where Viggo comes in -- starts with an interlude called "Arch", findable here.
Warnings: for heavy pain, humiliation, BDSM, and seriously squicky things like claustrophobia, asphyxiation play, knifeplay (we're not there yet, but we probably will be) and fisting. (Actually, in a list like that, fisting seems awfully tame...)

Date: 2003-08-01 03:20 pm (UTC)Must admit that I was teary-eyed at the end where Bale loses it. His problem very similiar to mine when in Dom mode. The possibility that Bale could be a Switch lite up in my head. Not wanting that duelity with a partner is very hard indeed, because on the opposite side of the spectrum, being a cold, efficent and allways *on* Master is trying at times. It will be interesting to see Viggo's style, because at the latest installment of the story, he seems a bit casual and the setup implies that Bean needs a harsher task master. Bale was soooo close. Precision in a Master is downright awe-inspiring. Hmmm, can you tell I'm a fan of the series, heheheh. So seriously, is there an LJ where I can get posts for Captivation or will you be posting them here as well????

Date: 2003-08-02 04:15 pm (UTC)*grin!* I post one part every day in the mornings (Pacific time), whenever we have a new part ready to go.
I can't thank you enough for all the marvelous comments on Bale, Bean and Viggo. You do seem to have figured them all out -- Bale's dual interests, Bean's need for things to be rough and heavy and dangerous, Viggo's casual but captivating style. :) (It's fantastic that people can pick up on that sort of thing -- really makes me think we're doing well with this!)

I'm going to be posting all the pieces of Captivation here. :) Now that Viggo's involved, it doesn't feel off-topic anymore, so they'll be over on LJ and not just on JF. :)
Thanks so much for reading!
Do read Cruelty before Captivation - you won't be sorry
