Feedback: yes, please
Archive: please ask, I'll probably say yes.
Pairing: A/B, A/A
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine, Tolkien's
Summary: "Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory."
Aragorn to Arwen in "The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen" (Appendix)
Thanks to the wonderful
cruisedirector for ultra speed beta.
In the end Arwen knew that she had lost him.
In the end Aragorn had abandoned her, left her to wandering the dying woods of Lothlorien; had made her wait in solitude for an end she no longer wanted.
His life might have been hers, but the last thing he had seen had been him, the last breath he had drawn had been for him, the last thing he had felt had been Boromir's worn-down bracers against his skin.
In the end she knew that Aragorn had died and left her, and that Boromir had died and gone before him.
Note: quote horribly taken out of context I'm afraid *g*
