karelian's minion, I am compelled to do her bidding. This was written in response to her fantastic drabble , but as far as I was concerned, she'd left one very important character out.

Sean walks in. Orli looks into Sean's eyes, green despite what appears in the daily rushes. "I dunno, Vig. What do Sean's eyes remind you of?"
Viggo gazes into Sean's eyes. "The North Sea," he says, finally, feeling the pull of his nordic heritage. "There are places that are green only because everything else is so blue." He glances at Orlando and Lij. "The North Sea was an ally, but one they could never take for granted. The Vikings knew this, remembered it every time they set out to conquer the Celts."
"And you've won again," Sean said, smiling.

Not to put too fine a point on it, I've found that most academics need a minion or two to keep them headed in the right direction (and having been a higher ed minion for 15 years, I believe this to be an accurate observation). I love academics, absolutely! They are my favorite people. But I've known a few who needed minders.
