At seventeen you looked down at the boy beneath you and you thought, This is just a phase.

At twenty-eight you looked at the woman, that wild creature, under you and you believed, This is right.

At thirty-eight you looked at the woman, no longer as wild, beside you and you knew, This is the last time.

At forty-one you looked into the bright green eyes and easy smile of the man above you and you hoped that, for him, This isn't just a phase.
