Nov. 7th, 2003 09:17 pmTitle: The Hazel Staff
Author: Raederle
Pairing: Aragorn/Boromir
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em, not for profit
Adult Content: only if you think there is
Notes: the meaning of the hazel staff comes from the Weirdin invented by Charles DeLint. For the
lotr100 Minor Arcana challenge.
Boromir stopped to cut a walking stick as the Fellowship traversed the lower slopes of the Misty Mountains.
“A hazel staff,” Aragorn remarked, “do you know the symbolism of it?”
“What do you mean?” Boromir asked.
“You cut your stave from a hazel tree. The Elves believe that a hazel staff represents wisdom and inspiration.”
“It’s just a stick, Ranger,” Boromir snorted. “According Gandalf and your Elves, I have no wisdom. I’m just another sword-arm for the defense of Frodo.”
Aragorn watched the blond warrior stride off and whispered, “Much more than just a sword, son of Gondor.”

I could, if I knew where to go with it. If you have suggestions, lay 'em on me!
