'Cause I haven't done this in a while
Apr. 4th, 2003 12:30 pmI kicked on to check the mail and look at Jommy's site... I tripped over this along the way...
Artwork:

The top left corner of the screen in the white sidebar... some in-character pictures (of all sorts from Boromir to Eowyn) are behind the small green (or red) four piece squares.
Below that and by itself is a small red symbol. The real people stuff is there. The paint-can link gets you sent to a page with a few A/B type pictures.

Hahaha, awesome!

I dug up some height info on imdb.com (and then to other sources for Wenham).
Viggo Mortensen: 5'11
Karl Urban: 6'1
Sean Bean: 5'11
David Wenham: Either 5'11 (http://www.angelfire.com/film/rings/character/wenham.html) or 5'8 (http://www.angelic-annie.com/hermes/bio.html).
In Japanese slash fandom, there's this so-called "height rule" wherein the taller one always gets to be top.
Ok, I'm tired, and it doesn't really make sense why I found it funny, but I surely got a kick out of it. ^_^;

This is interesting because I've seen estimates ranging between 5'10" and 6'1" for Viggo, but no matter where you look Sean's height is always listed as 5'11". And yet I always see Ian McKellan's height as 5'11" as well, but he seems taller than Sean in most press photos.
Weird. *shrugs*

Date: 2003-04-04 08:43 pm (UTC)Equal opportunity slash! Hehehe.
It's so cute, the two links at the bottom of http://shamon.cool.ne.jp/lotr/union_bio.html provide almost fool-proof ways for non-English-speaking Japanese fans to write to Sean (and Viggo, if he were still taking fan letters).
Must stop posting... coherence fading...

Ahhaha!
You have the talent of performance that the character of various kinds can be performed.
Hee! Too cute.

Date: 2003-04-04 07:33 pm (UTC)Now that's an interesting bit of info. Thanks. I do the art search thing by luck and the seat of my pants... it's always neat when someone can offer a bit of insight.
Re: Hahaha, awesome!
Date: 2003-04-04 08:35 pm (UTC)Of course, it's nice to see the height rule get broken in good fanfiction. >)
Disclaimer: It's been a over a year since I studied Japanese. My interpretations may be wrong.

(Legolas-and-his-damn-Elf-endurance) Happy Birthday!

I noticed that this fanartist(s) likes Men. I poked around the rest of the sight and confirmed my suspicions. (http://www.geocities.jp/pitipiti8/site.htm) Their Plan/Idea (second row of the tables) reads off as something like:
Nice to see that Sean/Viggo sentiments are alive and well in Japan. :D
Btw, be sure to click on the trash-can icon. Click on the red squares. Why is she putting these in the trash section?!
