This is the word of the day for my birthday, which falls on a rather unusual date.
And I admit to stealing the title for the drabble from one of the quotes in the link.



The darkest hour

The room seems dark from behind the black silk scarf covering Viggo's eyes and heightening his other senses

The scent of spices lingers in the air from the hot toddy they've shared after dinner and the very air feels thick and smooth against Viggo's skin, like dark velvet.
The creak of Sean's steps on the wooden floor is the only sign of his presence.

Until the bed dips under his weight and his hands remove the blindfold.

Viggo slowly opens his eyes.

The room is filled with burning candles and Sean's eyes burn with their same flame.

"Happy Hogmanay, Viggo."

I totally understand :)
I'll always find drabbles an exercise in self-restraint more than a form of writing and they don't come easy to me as my native language tends to use as many words as possible to express even the simplest concepts *g*
