Joins in the fangirling of [livejournal.com profile] milochka for this challenge. What a weird and wonderful selection of words I had to choose from, but this from 2000 is what I selected in the end... And yes, before you ask, it's schmoop.

Touchdown... Viggo closes his eyes as the plane taxis to a halt, waiting impatiently to disembark. He hates this part of the journey more than any other; but then he's grabbing his rucksack and jacket and leaving the plane, moving quickly - with purpose...

Past the cabin crew and ever-smiling stewardesses and into the arrivals hall;

Past the ubiquitous security personnel and press photographers and into the waiting car;

Past the lines of parked cars and planes and into the London rush hour;

Past the threshold of Sean's doorway and weeks of longing and into Sean's arms, his kiss... touchdown.

Hey, great use of your word and I like the theme, since it is so appropriate for this site. I can see Viggo pouncing on Sean when they meet, American football style!

Oooh. Love this.

The parallel structure is great! Gives such a feeling of forward movement, rushing Viggo along from the airport into Sean's arms.

Thanks!

Of *course* it's schmoop... *grin*, it's you, innit?

Lovely, and a perfect use of the word...

You know, I probably wouldn't mind flying that much if I had that kind of touchdown too *g*
Loved it!

you can bet the gamekeeper noticed! he's been pestering me ever since and I'll leave him use of the keyboard after I've had a soak with a bathbomb - for research purposes of course ;)

Wonderful. Wonderful way to express his impatience, wonderful way to come home. Wonderful. :-)

You weaved your word in so effortlessly that at first read I wasn't sure which one it was. :-)

Great drabble, and I really love the rushed aspect to it. (Though you'd have to be crazy NOT to rush if you had Sean waiting at home for you...) Thanks so much for participating in the challenge!
