Late at night Viggo stands again in the door frame, but this time with his pillow under his arm, tousled and wide awake. His eyes carry darkness, they are tombstones with his name written on them. Into their mirror-shadows Sean is drawn, but unafraid he reaches out for Viggo, whispering for not to disturb the night: "Come here, Vig."
And again Viggo curls up next to him, but his eyes don't close. He watches Sean, then suddenly he says it, says, what he'd fought to force himself to say all day long: "You may, if you want."
Sean stares at him, not getting the point.
Viggo tries a smile, but it can't overcome the evident emptiness on his blank features. He doesn't want to say it, so he shows it to Sean.
Sitting up in the bed, he quickly gets rid of his shirt and his boxers and lies face down on the blanket, spreading his legs, steeling himself for what he's sure will happen.
For a moment Sean is spellbound by the image Viggo presents. Naked, smooth skin kissed by moonlight, muscular, slender body.
But Viggo shivers all over in the attempt to force his tensing muscles to relax, to hunt the fear away, to remember how desire and pleasure felt.
"No", Sean says firmly, "Please, dress again."
Slowly Viggo rises into a sitting position again, covering his body awkwardly with the blanket, whispering, voice rough and pained with tears: "Do I repulse you so much?"
It almost breaks Sean's heart. Sighing, he pulls Viggo into his embrace, soothing him with soft touches and words: "No, you are the most beautiful and desirable man on earth, but you are still hurting. You aren't ready for it yet. You've got to heal first. Physically and mentally. I love you, Viggo."
And he falls asleep like a broken-winged bird after an exhausting, useless try to fly.
Sean can't sleep. He's afraid, Viggo could simply vanish with the passing night and he wouldn't even recognise in his sleep and there's a ticket on the night-stand, that will separate them for a week.
"Please, don't leave", Viggo begs, still naked and vulnerable, his eyes filled with tears of horror and Sean is torn between duty and love.
" I have to go", he tries to explain, even if it cuts his heart in shreds, even if it stirs his own fears again, "It's just fair to finish this whole thing as quick as possible. If it wouldn't be for my little girl, I wouldn't go. Please, try to understand me. This divorce is nasty enough, I can't miss the final part of it."
Viggo smiles bravely and blinks his tears away: "You are right. I'm sorry. Just afraid."
"Karl wouldn't dare, he isn't stupid, obviously a bastard, but not stupid", Sean states. He hugs Viggo one last time before grabbing his bags and running to his car, he's already late.
Viggo watches Sean drive away, when hears a familiar voice, that turns his heart to ice: "Finally you are all mine, again."
Again he lies unable to move on the bed, freezing in the cold of Karl's voice: "Mine, mine completely and don't look at me, I don't wanna see your face, when I fuck you!"
When he's turned on his stomach, he closes his eyes, fleeing into memory.
# A sunny summer day. He rugbytackles Sean on a meadow, still able to laugh, to be happy, feeling carefree and young.
His strong arms hold him, never imprisoning, he feels free, when he looks down into polar-sea-green orbs and that dazzling smile like sunshine, his touch like a lazy gentle breeze.
Closing his eyes, he spreads his broken wings widely and flies again into the heaven of trust. #
But the first hard thrust tears him out of his refuge, he screams, his body tensing and arching in a last outcry of resistance before he becomes limp.
His soul drains out of his eyes with every tear trickling down on the pillow.
"Sean", he whispers into his own heart's empty pain, whispers it like a prayer and his hands clench in the fabric of the blanket he rocks on with every too hard trust.
But Viggo smiles, finally he has become numb.

Date: 2004-06-14 08:05 pm (UTC)But I was slamming my keyboard yelling at Sean not to leave (how could he possibly believe that Karl would leave Vig alone?), and then I was cursing Karl when he hurt Viggo again. Our poor Vig! *sobs and hugs him*
This was my favourite part in this installment:
>It almost breaks Sean's heart. Sighing, he pulls Viggo into his >embrace, soothing him with soft touches and words: "No, you are the >most beautiful and desirable man on earth, but you are still hurting. >You aren't ready for it yet. You've got to heal first. Physically and >mentally. I love you, Viggo."
The flashbacks are also really nicely done. Keep up the great writing and please post again soon!
Re: Another lovely part
Date: 2004-06-15 03:35 am (UTC)But Sean had to leave, I needed him to leave, because of Viggo`s state of mind. Something will happen. This will be the strangest ending I ever wrote. Not entirely happy, not sad. Just disturbing.
I hope nobody will be bothered about the next developments.
