Title: East Wind
Author: Iana ([livejournal.com profile] iana_niniel)
Pairing: Ara/Boro
Rating: PG
Summary: 'In Minas Tirith they endure the East Wind, but they do not ask it for tidings...' (Aragorn's POV)
Disclaimer: nothing's mine but the words...
Feedback: Need it... desperately...
A/N: This is based on the 'Lament For Boromir' by Tolkien, I basically added another stanza

-East Wind-
(based on a poem by J.R.R. Tolkien)

From mountains dark and coasts forlorn the East Wind ever flies
And whispering in silent lands it seeks to spread its lies.

No news from the East, o treacherous wind, I ask of you at dawn,
No news of him who's long been lost, whose loss I'll ever mourn.
I will not hear your poisoned words, your visions I won't see,
Begone, foul wind, your deadly breath won't dim my memory
Of him who fought the night alone to see the our hope reborn,
Of him who with his dying breath redeemed a vow forsworn.

O Boromir, you won't return from north, from south or west,
but Boromir, where'er you walk eternally be blessed.

and the other one...

Title: Farewell

-Farewell-

Do you not know how much I craved this moment,
that in this hope lay all my strength to carry on?
And faintly I remember as I'm falling
that this should hurt, but no, instead I feel I've won.

There is no pain, just this numb sorrow in the distance
that is reflected in the grief within your eyes.
Don't grieve for me. Can you not see I'm happy?
Can you not see I've won the truth through all the lies?

Can you not see that I have finally surrendered,
have let my heart conquer the fortress of my pride?
That I indeed rejoice in uttermost submission
for this submission holds no darkness but your light?

Oh don't you doubt me now, my heart is there before you,
I know I should feel guilt for I'm the one to blame,
but strange enough there's nothing left that matters,
silent redemption as my lips try form your name.

Oh do not cry for me, just hold me till it's over,
unspoken promises, a soul's eternal bond,
and I will treasure this wherever I am going,
I will remember through the darkness and beyond.

Yes! You posted it! You know... I was reading through your lj this morning, enjoying all your poetry (ALL of it: you're terribly good!) and this poem, especially this line, made me cry. Honestly. It still does.

And
O Boromir, you won't return from north, from south or west,
but Boromir, where'er you walk eternally be blessed.

is equally wonderful. I adore poetry--and adore yours! Post more... please?

*hugs*

I'm all choked up now. These are both beautiful, though I particularly like the second. Wonderfully done.

I don't think these could be more lovely. They make me feel very quiet and still. Thanks so much for them.
