Off topic post - an explanation

I know OT posts aren't allowed here and I'm being lazy. But I've had a few emails asking why my fics have disappeared from the archive, so I thought I'd answer them here.

It's simple really - I've decided that my journal (like the one I used to keep when I was a teenager) should be more of a private thing - this is to protect me and my real life and to control (as much as it is possible with the internet) material that is clearly unsuitable for people under a certain age from being made widely available. This decision has been a long time in the making and is a permanent one. Because I've locked my journal it was also necessary to remove my fics from the archive. All links have been removed from rugbytackle as well but the fics are retained in my journal for my friends to read. I still love writing and enjoy reading all the stuff that folk post here and in their own journals. I just finally realised that if I was going to keep writing, I had to be accountable for the control of that material.

I understand and respect your decision. And I imagine it wasn't made without a lot of thought about it. I am glad that you count me among your friends and I will still be able to enjoy your talents though. Keep doing what you do! *hugs*

I thought about joining the Live Journal because I would like to be able to continue reading your wonderful stories. (I especially love the Clansmen series.) However, when I read the terms of service I ended up confused and extremely intimidated. (For example, it told me I couldn't have just ended up here by accident. I must have had a friend tell me about it and I should get a source code from that person. Well, guess what? I did end up here by accident and I don't have anyone to ask for a source code even if I knew what it was.) Also, the stories I have written are not very good, so I'd have nothing to offer you in return.

Aw... Thanks for taking the trouble to post this I'm sorry you found it intimidating; it shouldn't be. You do not need an invite code any more.

Just go to the following address -https://www.livejournal.com/create.bml and fill in the boxes. Be sure to choose a username you feel comfortable with (it'll tell you if its already taken) because it'll cost you to change it! Make sure you choose a free account to start with.
