FIC: Bear Hugs and Bandages. SB/VM PG
Apr. 28th, 2003 04:53 pmTitle: Bear-hugs and Bandages
Author email: ladymoonray@yahoo.com
Pairing: Sean B/Viggo
Rating: PG
Feedback: Please
Summary: Viggo can't wait to see Sean.
Disclaimer: I wish this was true, but I'm fairly sure it's not. I made it all up.
Archiving: BTF and my site (http://www.digitalcandy.net/~ladym) only please.
Notes: The characters might seem rather similar to those from New Beginnings. This wouldn't quite fit into the storyline I have in mind for the series, so here it is as a stand-alone.
Dedication: One year ago today, I took a deep breath and walked into a pub to meet up with
viva_gloria for the first time. That day was the start of a wonderful friendship, and an insane year of eating and drinking, writing, theatre, days out and new friends followed. We're going out tomorrow to celebrate, but in the meantime here's to many more such years. Gloria, this one's all for you:
Bear Hugs and Bandages
Viggo was pacing around the kitchen. He'd been doing so ever since his laptop screen told him the plane had landed. He wished for the millionth time that he'd disregarded Sean's advice and gone to the airport himself, instead of just sending a car.
What on earth was taking so long? Even allowing for delays with luggage and customs, and the usual traffic problems, he was late.
Viggo told himself to settle down. He strode through to the main room, and sat on the only chair to give him a view from the front window. The second he sat down, a car pulled up outside. Viggo forced himself to stay put, but his breath caught as Sean stepped out. Even after a flight from London (during which he wouldn't have slept and probably wouldn't have moved), he looked great in his signature blue jeans and white t-shirt. That outfit would be boring on anyone else, but on Sean it just looked right.
Oh, the hair! A bit longer than before, and just starting to flop. So much sexier than that severe Macbeth style he'd lived with for months.
He was walking up the drive. Viggo jumped up to get the door. As he reached for the handle, he was amused to note that his hands were shaking. Now that he was here, Viggo was actually nervous. How ridiculous.
He stepped forward, pushing the door shut behind Sean. His smile lit the entire hallway.
"Do something," Viggo told himself. "Show him how pleased you are to see him!"
He stepped forward and pulled Sean into a bear hug. Sean leaned on him rather harder than he was expecting. Viggo stepped back, but the wall was too far away to save him.
Viggo realised that putting his arm out to break the fall wasn't a sensible idea, but he couldn't seem to help it. He screwed his eyes shut. They were landing so heavily, it was going to hurt.
"Ow, fuck." Hurt was the understatement.
Sean rolled off him quickly. Viggo regretted that, despite the pain.
"Let me look." Sean was sitting on the floor next to him, pulling gently on his elbow. Viggo reluctantly extended his arm. It didn't hurt as much as he expected, but he couldn't help swearing again when Sean poked his wrist.
"Sorry! I think it's just a sprain. Do you have any ice? Oh and, er, hello!"
Viggo grinned.
"Hello to you too! Yes, there's ice in the kitchen. But you might have to help me up."
Sean was very careful to take all his weight, and Viggo managed to stand up without wincing. But when he tried to pull out a chair in the kitchen, he stupidly tried to do it with his right hand. He sat down hard, and grit his teeth.
Sean was busy with a cloth and some ice. He was very gentle, but Viggo still grimaced at the cold on his wrist.
"You could do with a bandage to hold that on with."
"I think there's one in the bathroom cabinet. But it's OK, I can just hold the cloth for now."
Sean turned back from the door, displaying a particularly evil grin.
"You think?"
