Response to Nevanoon's Picture Challenge
Aug. 22nd, 2005 02:53 pmYes, it's emotional, but sometimes the shoe fits. Besides, I wanted to kind of write this from Sean's POV.
The Picture Never Lies by Ashlyn K. Toliver
Sean’s sightless eyes forever stared beyond Viggo’s presence. The picture was painted a few days ago, just before they both walked away from what could have been either the heaven of belonging or the hell of others condemning their love. But the picture never lies, and Sean’s frozen gaze, in that intimate moment of shared candor between him and Viggo, speaks volumes. Those eyes cannot see Viggo sitting dejectedly along an opposite wall, head down, small tears falling like drops in a chaos theory. Those eyes spoke of hope, love, and redemption.

Date: 2005-08-23 08:44 am (UTC)I must not tell you that motifs like "eyes", "picture", "gaze", and "tears" at last, appeal to me since I'm mostly a "visual" being.
Eyes are means of perception and realization, but they also may refuse to realize. But they always "mirror" the soul.
(Does that make sense? It's difficult for me to explain it in English, I should write it down in German and ask Anne to translate it, if you are interested)
