“And what would you do better than Viggo, huh little brother? What would you offer me that could blow me away?“
David stepped closer and took Sean’s face gently with both hands.
“This. Me.”
A soft whisper in the air, burning with overpowering desire before his lips closed over Sean’s in a kiss which left no room for anything else.
Sean fell. The earth seemed to shake with the force of the kiss, opening under his feet to swallow him completely. Blindly, he reached out and grabbed David’s shoulders.
Sparks grew into a raging fire, embracing them with strong arms; not willing to ever let go; until Sean felt the solid ground underneath his feet again.
He pushed David away, not easily letting go of the heat that was his kiss.
“Don’t.” The low rumbling of an earthquake.
“Why not?” Blazing, raspy promises without saying them out loud.
“Because, its not better, just different. And I don’t need to make a difference; I need to make it better, or else I will never reach heaven.”

‘What the fuck?’
Viggo stopped dead in his tracks. He felt like he’d run into a brick wall. His eyes were watering; every breath he took hurt, every beat of his heart hit him with the force of a sledgehammer, leaving an unbearable ache.
Sean. Kissing David.
‘That can’t be, not him. Not my Sean.’
He fell. He fell so deep and fast that the stars seemed to deny him his given place among them. They sent him spinning down until he was nothing but a dying planet on its lonely way through the sky.
A painful breath escaped Viggo. It seemed there wasn’t enough air for him to breath. He needed to get away. See something different, something better, anything but this.
He turned and ran, he didn’t want to see what might come after that kiss. With every step he took, a new cloud gathered at the sky until it was dark and heavy. And as expected, heaven opened its gates and cried a billion tears.

Ian raised an eyebrow in surprise. He’d never expected the little one to be forward like this. The kiss was breathtaking and made him hard just from watching.
But even distracted as he was, Ian noticed the stirring of air and the shadow moving quickly away.
The devastated look in the once so shiny blue eyes, and the hurt look in Viggo’s face he saw in the blink of an eye would haunt him in many sleepless nights to come.
He saw Sean pushing David back, heard his words, already on the move to follow Viggo, and he sighed. He fled, the fool, instead of facing the truth. ‘Love,’ Ian chuckled at the thought.
The first drops of rain hit his long, white hair; he could feel them even through the wig. Within seconds it was pouring, and he was soaked to his skin.
Viggo had left footprints in the muddy ground and so it wasn’t hard for Ian to follow him. He found him after a few more turns through the city of Minas Tirith, sitting on the ground with his back against a sturdy brick wall and his legs pulled up to his chest.
He never looked up until Ian touched his cheeks with his fingertips, mingling his tears with the drops of the rain hitting his face in a steady rhythm. The soothing wet fingers felt good on his heated skin, and he closed his eyes to hide his pain and the betrayal he felt.
Ian took Viggo’s face into both of his hands, just like David had taken Sean’s in his, forcing him to look up.
“What do you think did just happened?”
He tried to shake his head to will away the memory of that moment, yet there were still only more tears spilling from his eyes.
“Don’t cry. You should have stayed a bit longer, Lovely.”
“Why? To watch him leave me?” His answer was a floating, choked whisper, like a whiff of air through the pouring rain.
Viggo felt like drowning in those ocean-blue eyes, looking at him so intently. He didn’t dare to breathe in fear of drowning in the waves crashing over him, trying to pull him deeper into the water, farther away from the safety of the shore.
“No stupid. You think he would burn his fingers when his hands could touch heaven? He didn’t want that, didn’t want him. Only you.”
The strong current holding him a minute ago seemed to weaken, and Viggo began to swim towards solid ground.
“Sean loves you and you alone.”
His feet touched ground, and for the first time since he was doomed to an eternity in hell, he could breath freely again.
“You are made for each other, the perfect match. And no living, breathing thing between Heaven and Earth could change that.”
________
Heaven and Earth
When Sean came home, he found the house empty. Silence bathed every single room he went into in search of Viggo despite the roaring thunder and lightning outside. All of a sudden, a strong draught reached for him with ghostly fingers, setting his steps and leading the way.
The door to the backyard was wide open, a way for the strong wind to blow the thick rain inside. Lightning struck the earth not far away, and one followed quickly after the other, exposing to Sean what was hidden so far in darkness.
The heavy wooden table stood proud in the middle of the large porch, bearing what Sean had been longing for since he’d set things right with David.
Viggo’s shirt was wide open, leaving his bare chest exposed to the elements. So were his feet because as usually he wore no shoes. The jeans otherwise loosely around his hips, clung now tight and wet to his skin; the frayed edges hung as low on his hips as the fabric would allow, his hair slicked back from his face by the force of the rain beating down on him.
Sean swallowed hard. If Viggo knew what just happened, he would never be as relaxed as he was now. David had kissed him. And he’d let it happen, if only for a moment. He’d lost the ground under his feet, questioning the unlimited depths of heaven.
But he would not run. Not this time. It was time to face his demons and conquer them one by one.
Step by step, he walked outside into the rain. The soothing liquid calmed him down just like it had Viggo before. He felt connected to the earth with the muddy sand under his feet and the heavy rain trying to force him deeper into the ground.
A bolt of lightning lashed out for the old willow in the field nearby, the sound of breaking wood almost human in its painful moan.
Viggo didn’t even flinch at the noise. The water pearled in large drops from his eyes, clinging for one brave last moment to the thick lashes before they ran down the prominent cheeks.
Earth reached out with one hand to touch heaven, but stopped in the last moment, afraid to be denied. Instead, Sean bent down and over Viggo. His face shielded Viggo’s from the pouring rain.
Eyes opened slowly, revealing clear blue sky.
A surprised gasp hit Sean in a warm rush of air before he leaned down and touched heaven with an earthy kiss, solid and strong. Slick and hot, his tongue demanded entrance into heavens gates, spreading love, mending flaws.
Viggo reached out for Sean, and heaven and earth finally met and connected at the horizon, becoming one.
