'Homemade Soup'
“Viggo, are you home?” Sean called out as soon as he came in the door to Viggo’s house. He listened for a response, but nothing came.
With a worried frown, Sean made his way through the silent house towards the back bedroom. The door to the bedroom was ajar and Sean peeked his head in, smiling at the sight that met him. Viggo was curled up in a little ball on the bed, fast asleep. One arm was flung out to the side and the other fist was tucked up near his face.
Sean watched the sleeping man for a few moments; he didn’t want to disturb him so he went back towards the kitchen to make the other man something to eat. He had heard from the Elf that Viggo was a bit under the weather and had left immediately after being released from makeup and wardrobe. Orlando had wanted to come with Sean when he said he was going to check up on their Ranger, but Sean said it might make Viggo uncomfortable to have them all there while he was sick. He reassured the worried young man that he would call him as soon as Viggo felt like having company. Reluctantly, the boy had agreed and Sean was on his way.
Looking around Viggo’s kitchen, Sean chuckled at the clutter on the table and counters. It wasn’t dirty as if the man never cleaned up after himself, no it was notes and old scripts and poems he found cluttering just about every surface that Sean found to be typical Viggo. Before he could even start thinking about cooking up something for his ill lover to eat, he needed to make room for him to work. Carefully he stacked up the papers and books and sat them in one of the chairs near the table. He wiped off the counters and table with a damp rag and then set about making Viggo some homemade soup his mum had shown him how to make when he was a small lad.
Sean was chopping up the last of the vegetables and putting them in the pot when he sensed someone enter the room behind him. He turned to find Viggo, wrapped up in a blanket standing in the kitchen doorway, his hair stuck to one side and in disarray on the other side.
“Hey, babe. I didn’t wake you did I?” Sean wiped his hands on a dish towel as he spoke to the other man.
“I’m sick,” Viggo replied, stating the obvious from the slur of his words as he followed it with a sneeze.
“Bless you, mate.” Sean reached for some tissues and handed them to Viggo. “I think you need to get back into bed. I’ve put on a pot of my mum’s soup. It’ll be ready in about half an hour.”
“Tank ouu” Viggo snuffed out his thanks for the blessing, the tissue and for the soup. He found himself being led back into his bedroom and he crawled back into bed and covered up. Sean sat on the bed next to him and felt his forehead.
“You’ve got a temperature, mate.” Sean pressed his hand cupping the side of Viggo’s face. “Do you have any meds here, or should I make a run to the drug store?” Sean was hesitant about leaving the sick man, but he knew the illness would only get worse if he didn’t get something to help. “Maybe I should call Orlando,” Sean’s words were interrupted by another sneeze from Viggo followed by “Noo, please nod dhe Elf! I lub hem, but I don’ habe the engy to deal wif im right now.” Sean smiled at the jumbled words but hurried to reassure Viggo that Orlando wouldn’t be coming, at least not yet.
“Vig, I’m going to go look through your medicine cabinet and see what I can find, okay?” Sean got up from the bed before the other man could answer. He looked back to see Viggo already starting to doze off. He found some kind of herbal cold medication in the bathroom. Filling a glass with water, he made his way back to the bedroom and lightly shook Viggo’s shoulder to wake him. “Hey, wake up and take these,” he murmured to the sick man as he handed him the pills, followed by the water. “Get some rest and I’ll come back and check on you when the soup is ready.” Sean started to get up when he felt his hand being tugged on.
“Stay wid me?” Viggo pleaded.
“Vig, I don’t want to disrupt your sleep. I’ll be in the living room. I’m not going anywhere.” Sean wasn’t planning on going anywhere until his best friend and lover was better. He got up to leave, but the next words stopped him in his tracks.
“I need you.”
Crawling into bed next to the sick man probably wasn’t the bed idea, but then again Sean wasn’t known for denying anything the other man asked for.
The End.

This is sweet. I like Sean's "daddy" instincts coming out, and Elf boy's concern, but having to stay away 'cause he's just a bit much for a sick guy. Yeah, I'm a VigOrliBean addict. :)

Date: 2006-08-29 12:05 am (UTC)I'd love to have Sean taking care of me if I were sick and figured that Viggo would enjoy it as well.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
p.s. Vigorlibean is the best! :-)
