DRIFTING

I was waiting, interminably, for the next scene to be set up and as I watched the dressers preparing Sean, my thoughts wandered for a while as I realised how much I love Sean’s body. Of course, I love everything about Sean (well, nearly everything, anyway!) but you can’t deny what a wonderful body the man possesses.

I know I will never tire of feeling or seeing that body, no matter where . . . fully clothed or fully naked . . . asleep or waking . . . and I have seen it in every possible combination. Whether dressed in his own street clothes or attired for a character part; whether in our own shower or sharing a bath with a dozen sweaty team-mates after a soccer-sorry!-football game; whether in our own bed or sharing someone’s bed in a film; whether waking in the morning in my arms or coming in with a breakfast tray . . . yes, every likely variation.

I have thought about painting it, but I know I’ll never be able to capture its magnificence so, rather, I content myself with what my camera lens can capture.

“Earth to Viggo!” Suddenly I was jolted back to reality by Sean waving a hand in front of my face . . . Sean’s lovely hand . . . and I realised the scene was about to start. “Drifting again?” asked Sean with a grin, and I could only nod, listening to that wonderful voice. Oh, don’t even get me started on that voice . . .

Actually it is testament to Viggo's obsession with Sean's body that it took me quite a few moments to take my eyes off the sacred arse so I could read your fic!! Lovely observation on a very loving relationship that really made me smile! Thanks for posting :)

The partners of performers do get more chance than most to see their loved one's bodies in different situations - but then they also have to deal with the fact that millions of other people see *some* of it too and you repeatedly pair off private and public images. It's interesting that this artist feels himself unequal to capturing the effect that the body has on him - or perhaps he just doesn't want to have to share this too?

I think the pairing off of private and public images must be the hardest thing to bear . . .

At least we are aware that we only see the 'public' side (however much we write about what we envsage as the private!), but to see and accept both in equal measure must take strength, I think.
