The List

Sean was mentally ticking off the items from his list. Orlando had been great at organising the flat for their reunion in London, but to Orlando ‘organising a flat’ meant signing on the dotted line and nothing more, so ever tidy, neat and efficient Sean needed to plan, and planning meant a list.

He’d tended to the furnishing and fittings a few weeks ago, so the final list concerned life’s little luxuries like food and drink and other important “supplies” that might just become essential to start things off; making sure no-one else knew where they were; and making sure Orlando was at the flat at the right time on the right date, waiting in welcome.

So now, Sean could just about tick off the penultimate item on the list. That would be Viggo, coming here to shoot part of his new film, so Sean was waiting patiently at the airport to meet him. ‘We do spend an inordinate amount of time at airports or in the air’, he mused. ‘Glad it’s Viggo this time, though, and not me’. And then, as Viggo’s smiling face came into view, he mentally ticked off that item, leaving just the last one . . .

“Hope you’re ready for the fireworks”, he whispered into Viggo’s ear as he hugged him in welcome. “And I don’t mean the kind you buy in a box!”

Viggo’s wicked grin placed the final tick on Sean’s list.

I love that The Elf has been brought in as Sean's accomplice... and possible third party. Ahem. Yes. ;)

Oh yes! "Check" - I forgot that little difference, because we say "tick" - just a good job the words translate easily!
