Almost Christmas and I know you’re in London. You took your time before showing up on my doorstep. It must have been a real hard fight to stay away this time.

“Can I come in ?”

I step aside and follow you with my eyes as you disappear in my bedroom. Then the rest of me follows, as always.

So much hunger and there are no words between us.

It’s not enough, it never is,  but you’re still leaving.

Alone again. Sleepless on the bed, the sparkling lights of the Christmas decorations in the garden shining through the curtains.

Silent Night.

Strong contrast between the bleak emotional landscape and the Christmas imagery in the physical setting. Sad, but I suppose whilst there's life/contact/routines that can be broken, there's hope too.

Very effective -- gave me shivers, this one did. The contrast at the end was stark and sad, and "Silent Night" had such a hollow ring....
