A/N: A knout is a whip made of braided leather tails. The word "knout" is of Scandinavian origin.
SPECIAL THANKS: For "D", again and always.
"Do it."
Sean tried to swallow, tried to defy, tried not to tremble.
"Now."
There was steel beneath the rough silk of Viggo's voice and Sean reluctantly unbuttoned his shirt and let the protective cotton slide down his arms to the floor.
"Kneel."
Viggo nodded at Sean's obedience as he circled behind him. The ridges that crossed Sean's back, left to right, had faded from deep scarlet to dusty rose.
Sean inhaled sharply at the contact, but Viggo only arranged the leather tails of the knout diagonally across the existing marks.
Symmetrical. Contrasting. Pleasing.
Lines of pain.
And of pleasure.
