Twelve Step Programme

There seems to be a ‘twelve step programme’ for everything else – why not love?

Because twelve steps would never be enough?

And since our perspectives of love are different, who would name the steps?

Meet, talk, laugh, cry, kiss, share, reveal . . . that’s seven and they’re certainly not dwarvish steps, but who’d care to define what comes next?

Those memories and moments that are legion and can be told, can be shared, can be said aloud. But what of those memories and moments that will never be shared with others, will always remain inside us? Who could name those?

Just love.
