Time's running out
Aug. 27th, 2008 12:05 pmPosted with kind permission of the mods.

In just a few days the nomination period for the
mome_awards will end. If you want to make sure the pairings you love have their own categories, please nominate as many exceptional fics as you can in each of the story lengths (drabble, ficlet, short and long fiction).
Any story that features an actor from LOTR (either RPS or FPS) is eligible to be nominated. The FPS track encompasses not just Tolkien characters but the actors from the films in other roles (for example, Will Turner, Frank Hopkins, Casey Connor, Richard Sharpe, etc.). Fandom and RPS/FPS crossovers are eligible.
Awards are presented to both new and classic stories based on story length and pairing. Specific details on eligibility and the nomination process can be found here.
August 31 will be here before you know it. Please submit your nominations today!
P.S. This is being posted at as many comms as I can think of so my apologies for spamming your friends lists!

Date: 2008-08-28 09:47 am (UTC)The MOME Awards are basically an award for LOTR slash fiction (both real person and fictional person) and the nomination period ends on August 31. That means that anyone who has read a really great story that was written between July 2007 and June 2008 that they would like to be recognized needs to go to this link (http://community.livejournal.com/mome_awards/8825.html) and leave the name of the story, the author's name, the number of words in the story, who the primary pairing is, the link to the story, the date the story was completed, and e-mails for both the author and yourself; all of that information constitutes a complete nomination.
Once the nomination period ends on August 31, I'll put together a list of stories that received the most nominations and then everyone can vote for their favorite out of that shorter list and once the votes are counted the winners are announced later this year.
If you think you'd really like to participate, let me know what language you speak and, as I said before, maybe we can find a translation site that can help.

Date: 2008-08-28 06:50 pm (UTC)Yeah, I can handle 5 language, but only two of them properly, the third I somehow manage and with the last two I know only some simple phrases and pronouncing...
But anyway, I have a really great story (I think), written by me! So I can nominate it via e-mail that's ponted at that location you put there?
BTW the page creeped me out with all that information, I was about to pull it all off for being scared of all that text! Silly me...
